Your safety is our top priority. This page explains the tools available to keep you safe on SocialMediaStarz and provides guidance on what to do if you experience a safety concern.
In immediate danger?
If you or someone else is in immediate physical danger, please call your local emergency services (e.g. 911 in the US, 999 in the UK, 000 in Australia) before contacting us.
Account Security
- 1Use a strong, unique password with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols.
- 2Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) in your Account Settings.
- 3Never share your login credentials with anyone, including people claiming to be SocialMediaStarz staff.
- 4Log out of shared or public devices after each session.
- 5Review your connected apps regularly and revoke access to anything you no longer use.
- 6If you suspect your account has been compromised, change your password immediately and contact support.
Privacy Controls
- 1Set your profile to Private if you only want approved followers to see your content.
- 2Control who can comment, DM, or tag you in your Privacy Settings.
- 3Avoid sharing your real-time location, home address, school, or workplace in posts.
- 4Be cautious about what personal details appear in the background of your photos or videos.
- 5Use the Block feature freely — blocked users cannot view your profile or contact you.
- 6Check your followers list periodically and remove anyone you don't recognise.
Dealing with Harassment
- 1Use the Report button on any post, comment, DM, or profile that violates our guidelines.
- 2Block or restrict users who harass you — this removes their ability to interact with your content.
- 3You don't need to engage with trolls or hostile comments. Silence is always an option.
- 4Save evidence (screenshots) of harassment before blocking, in case you need it for a formal report.
- 5If you're being stalked or threatened online, contact your local law enforcement and let us know.
- 6Reach out to our Trust & Safety team at safety@socialmediastarz.com for serious incidents.
Mental Health & Wellbeing
- 1Take breaks from the platform when social media starts to feel overwhelming.
- 2Use our screen time reminder feature in Settings to set healthy usage limits.
- 3Remember that follower counts and likes do not define your worth.
- 4Unfollow or mute accounts that make you feel bad about yourself.
- 5If you or someone you know is in crisis, please contact a crisis helpline (see resources below).
- 6We have a dedicated Wellbeing filter that lets you reduce exposure to sensitive content topics.
