• Profile information — bio, location, member type, avatar, and cover photo
• Content you post — photos, videos, audio, text, stories, and comments
• Interactions — likes, follows, shares, and direct messages
• Usage data — pages visited, features used, time spent, and device information
• Payment information — if you purchase a subscription or creator product (processed securely by our payment provider)

We use your information to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the SocialMediaStarz platform
• Calculate and display your influence ranking and creator statistics
• Personalise your feed and content recommendations
• Communicate with you about platform updates, security alerts, and support
• Enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data to train third-party AI models without your explicit consent.

We may share your information with:

• Service providers — Supabase (database & auth), Vercel (hosting), Cloudinary (media storage), and payment processors
• Advertising partners — Meta, TikTok, and Google, only if you accept marketing cookies. They receive page views; TikTok also receives the marketplace listings you view and your searches; and Meta and TikTok receive sign-up events. When you sign up, your email address is irreversibly scrambled (hashed) in your browser before it is sent to Meta and TikTok, so it can be matched to their users without being shared in readable form. We use this to measure and improve our advertising.
• Law enforcement — when legally required or to protect the safety of users
• Other users — public profile information and content you choose to post publicly

Some of these providers store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time from our Cookies Policy page.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal reasons or to prevent abuse.

SocialMediaStarz is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at privacy@socialmediastarz.com and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a platform notification. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
